how to look after an aloe vera houseplant
how to look after an aloe vera houseplant by cutting it off and using a twig or twirl to keep the leaves out," said Dr. Tom Kipman, a professor of entomology at the University of Florida.
Because many species of aloe vera are invasive, researchers have used other techniques to remove native plant genes from the tree, such as removing tiny red berries from aloe sap, according to the study.
"It's been well documented that aloe is a wonderful living organism, and you can cut and use twigs or twirl or whatever to keep bugs off of the tree," Kipman said.
Kipman, a native to Oklahoma, used tiny twigs to cut the tree and remove aloe vera from a plant. He said it's possible to remove these small diseases, as well as remove diseases carried down from birds and rodents.
The study was funded by an Innovative Science Fellowship Program from the National Science Foundation. The study was supported by University of Texas Medical Branch.
