The city expects 5 to 10 homes in the area to be sold by 2018, with 2 to 3 more under construction, officials said.

"Today our goal is to have 100 homes in the city by mid-2018."

The city plan to build up to 20 of these at its annual environmental and economic development council meeting on March 4.

Those homes will include a new community room, an "offline kitchen facility," which houses staff and visitors to help clean up contaminated land, and a new library, the public service office said.

The second half of the project is expected to have a combined annual budget of about €11.4 million.
