The new project is designed to protect the forests to the detriment of the soil and plant life of the parklands. The existing plant and animal lives include:

Largest invasive species are grasshoppers with an annual incidence of up to two per cent of annual forest losses of over 30kg as a result from invasive species.

The Forest Stewardship Board (FWBC) is the body that decides who needs protection and in which areas the project is placed.

There are four groups (GPO/GSO):

1. The PPO

The GPO is an advisory body which reviews the forest and wildlife management policies of the park and assesses potential impact across different parts of the park.

2. The OSB

The OSB represents the GPO's views as best it can to protect the forest and the environment. It is a group of representatives from the Forest Stewardship Board including the head of the GPO's own department, the head of the OSB's forest management programme, the head of the OSB national wildlife department and the Secretary of State for Parks and Wildlife.
