How is the state of Michigan responding?

The government has taken steps to increase vaccination rates, including a statewide initiative to vaccinate 90 percent of households by 2015. It says a statewide vaccination rate will continue to increase because of a combination of factors, including the health impact of increasing vaccination rates at public schools and by expanding emergency and early response programs.

But the numbers that are available to state governments say there is a significant difference between a statewide vaccination rate and the number of children who get vaccinated. The number of children vaccinated at the same time, the number who are vaccinated for one or many diseases and the type of vaccination used have the potential to have a larger impact.

That's because vaccines are administered at a time when more and more individuals across the state are dying from preventable diseases. And the results of that research are being kept secret.

The number of children enrolled every year

Michigan's number of children is about one in 15.

According to one study, an average of 90 public school students receive one dose of each vaccine every year. That's one child for every person, and that's less than four children.

That may seem like a small number, but the national figure is even bigger: Since 1998, the number of children who received an IU vaccine at school has risen more than 14 times. By 2007, only about 7.8 million of 7 million
