New evidence suggested the family of the 11-pounder survived the fire at their home just off the interstate.

They were found sleeping in the car outside the home a few miles from their first home.

Police told the Daily Beast that they suspect people inside the family knew what was going on and they went through the house, though they weren't sure exactly what exactly happened, or where the fire had started.

According to police, they were told their little cousin, who lived next door, had been severely burned.

"We are not aware of any reason that could have caused it to explode during her short pregnancy," said one sheriff's department spokesman, who added that there have been eight fatalities in the past year.

It's now alleged that people inside the home knew the house was safe and in good repair and the fire was contained before it spread.

"We are not the authorities or those who are using 911 for this and we are asking that they continue to use all available tools in their work," Sheriff Mark Miller explained.

A family reunion will be held Aug. 3 at the St. Mary Baptist Cathedral in Baltimore, according to the sheriff's department.

It was not immediately clear what caused the blaze, though local authorities are investigating.
