The Department of Transportation says its first-ever study on the effect of new road paving across state lines is scheduled for Aug. 1, but the agency has yet to make any final announcement about its proposed projects.

The EPA is not releasing any information from this final announcement.

A spokesperson for Gov. Cuomo said Wednesday evening he would take on the work. As it had so often done before Cuomo took over, he said he was confident the EPA would go forward with the new state paving projects.

The EPA did note on its website a study on the effect the new road paving plan would make on New York State highways. In the same issue, The New York Daily News reported that most of the New York State infrastructure is already "in need of road maintenance."

The agency said the study will see no new vehicle traffic, no new construction of existing roads, no increases in traffic congestion or disruption to the traffic flow.

Cuomo also said he is working hard to restore the state highway system.

"It's not hard to see why there is a lot of concern and anger coming from the state," he said. "This is a great state where roads are
