A recent study on the health benefits of plants in Ontario concludes that it offers no benefit to the public.
And for some, the study may be more evidence that their health needs are met.
"It could be better," said Karen Ritchie, executive director of the Ontario Community Health Development Program. "This study does show us the benefits of plant-use management with respect to reducing the incidence of cancer in public health."
Sustainable living
Graziano said the province and its partners in agriculture are "doing very little to advance the good health of our native plants," adding that it's important to educate Ontario and other growers about the benefits of plant-plant community-based sustainability.
"We want to see the whole system understand that these things do happen, they're part of our everyday lives. And the truth is, there has certainly been a little over a decade here where there, rather than being something about farming, we've been using some of their natural systems in their gardens, our parks, our forest, our wildlife, our water, and for us, we've been working and living. We have the best and safest way to manage your plant and your plant's ability to grow. People have a right to have that level of control if they feel they have control over their health and they need control over all the things they're allowed to cultivate,"
